Do polls mean very little when registered voters who definitely intend to vote are polled?

Toney Flaten: The polls have been right 3 times in the last 100 years, that means most of the time the people who lead in the polls early lose

Raul Lushbaugh: I think the right wing likes to look at the polls like this.If McCain is winning, they mean everything. If Obama is winning, they shouldn't even be mentioned because they are pointless.Boy don't we just like flip-flopping around...:)...Show more

Benita Nancy: LOL at all the Libs now acting as though they are fine with the draft ..hahaha everything becomes okay to them when it is their candidate saying it. For those who say Republicans don't serve ..get a life. McCain has served , Obama has not. McCain's two sons serve and Palin's son serves. My husband, cousin and brother all serve and are all Republicans. So please stop sounding pathetic.

Raymundo Kyser: He wants to stop the class segregation that goes on in the militar! y. Right now, pretty much only poor people join, because the military will train you and pay for your education when you get out. He has proposed giving young people money for college for doing civic duties. That would influence more people from different classes to join. If more people are at risk of being sent overseas to fight some unnecessary war, we will be less likely to start wars in the first place.

James Langmyer: Polls mean very little.

Curtis Josef: I'm not saying a draft is a bad thing, I'm just wondering why so many people won't believe that it won't happen if Obama is president.

Booker Warlick: I certainly hope so. Notwithstanding the present mess in the credit markets, a private account is still a far better investment than the existing Social Security program. I ran the numbers, and found that Social Security has screwed me out of over $600,000. That is not chump change.

Tamatha Neubaum: contained in the sturdy previous state of Ma! ine you may sign in the day of the vote. you will possibly des! ire your identity for sure affirming your present day place of abode and place of birth. i'm unsure on Social protection card. in the adventure that your extremely reason on balloting not something could end you from showing up and a minimum of asking your community polling sales area in case you may sign in there.

Carmelina Enoch: It is impossible to know whether a person polled is being honest, whether they understand the question, whether the question you are told was asked is what the person was actually asked...I could go on.Polls are completely meaningless. The liberal media tries to stop GOP supporters every election cycle by calling states early based on "exit polls". They are wrong a lot.You will certainly find people who think polls matter, but they do not. They might, that's a big, huge might, help you to understand trends, but that's it....Show more

Ron Keliipio: Well, McCain and all the rest in Washington get nice pensions. Bush will even get 200k a y! ear for life for all the wonderful things he did in just 8 years.

Terresa Tsasie: When the republican candiate is down in the polls all the republicans will come out and tell you that polls mean very littel. When the dem is down the dems will tell you they need a better candidate. It is the quality of people each party attracts.

Cierra Gadbaw: Because they want to f*ck him and make it look all like his fault. If you think a House and Senate minority that does NOTHING is bad, wait until they become a majority that does NOTHING.

Randa Hessell: I hate war. Period. But, since we're in a war..due to idiots running everything...might as well have the draft. Why? Because right now, most military personnel are made up of people who have come from poor families who just wanted to better their lives. Those are the 'grunts' sent into fight and die. I have seen some loser skater kids and children of complete worthlessness who can benefit from being sent.

Billie Br! atchett: Mccain supports privatization of social security on wall stree! t:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yStmtECpw-8

Bethanie Menden: Obama has alot of nerve saying it is an obligation, when he never bothered to serve in the military himself. I wouldn't be surprised if he reinstates the draft. Of course, he wouldn't admit this now during campaigning, as he would loose those votes

Soraya Coodey: Polls mean very little. Period

Betsey Muehlbach: Now they mean little that Obama is winning

Roosevelt Pendill: Polls mean very little because they are easily skewed by numerous factors. Not the least of which are where, how and of whom you ask the question. How do you know that any poll was really asked of registered voters? Because they said they were! How do know what party these voters are registered under? Because you asked them! Do you realize that if you ask 1000 voters in Dallas Texas the same question that you ask 1000 voters in San Francisco that the results will be different? They can state how scientific polls are all ! they like, but the reality is that all too often the results do not fit the poliing data. This calls into questions the actual validity of polls of which there is very little....Show more

Nelly Kikuchi: This time a year (Dog Days of Summer) even those polls don't matter.Latter, closer to the election the polls you should worry about are not the junk polls that call everyone but as you say those with a record of making it to the polls every election. And even then those polls may turn out wrong....Show more

Bianca Lannier: They mean something in that with the poll you show, it means that Republicans have to quiet down about how great their man is doing in the polls. The final poll will be the election, but polls such as this one are good indicators of how it's going. We're starting to see some dropping off of McCain now that his "attack the celebrity" crap isn't new anymore.

Alexandria Popik: Last I heard he did. I hope he gets boobed off the stage the next! time he mentions it. Privatizing social security is too risky!

D! exter Dingus: LOL, now we have YouTube as sources of news. YouTube videos often only show what favor the views of the poster and rarely show the whole picture. Just like the garbage on FOX news. It does not show the questions that were asked in relation with the answers. And some people cal that facts? I call that garbage for people who can’t think for themselves or know the deference between reliable news and garbage news.To have a good idea on the truth, you have to read at a minimum of 2 pro republican news sources (one moderate and one fanatic) and 2 pro democrat news sources (one moderate and one fanatic). And then you put all of it together and remove the garbage. That is the hard part because you need an open mind to do that.I think what he meant in the video was that if we start a war the great majority of the population must be willing to send are troops to that war; not just the President or the Republican senators. If you don’t have the full interview, you mu! st read between the lines....Show more

Will Camus: Dukakis was up by 17 points in august, uh did that mean anything in the end??

Horace Escue: tonalc2; that's funny considering the people in congress, most will kiss Obama's butt no matter what he wants. Some have wanted the draft for years.

Derrick Cacioppo: The thing to remember with polls are this, they polled 1000 people. We have 300,000,000.00 in this country. Kerry was winning in the polls on election day in 2004.

Coralie Goldsberry: Difference: Obama won't get us in another war like McCain wants to with Iran, so no need for a draft!

Jeremy Donohue: They mean very little. Really, who are these people who answer these polls? Ever done one?

Adan Alipio: explain this video to me.http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=rvWQp_rr0NMShort video. Obama speaks second. He says "this is an important obligation, if we are going to war then all of us should go, not just some."...Show more

Verena Koo! p: hey @lienot, you say I show extreme ignorance? You should change you! r avatar name .

Giovanna Sherlin: Until he says "I want to reinstate the draft," then all you are doing is speculating. Most of the ideas I have heard from Obama are about making military service more attractive to young people (in fact, that was on the video you referenced) - he has stated many times that people who serve in the military should get to go to college for free when they return. He has also spoken about the need to take better care of our veterans. By the way, the President can't just up and reinstate the draft. Congress has to pass it. Perhaps what he is referring to is the service in other countries of our young people versus rich Republicans (like Bush) who "serve" in their home state, rather than have to fly out and actually do something like the poorer people do?

Jonathon Labonne: oh solid lord. would nobody ever examine the newspaper/watch the data. I swear You Tube isn't a plausible information source! the reply isn't any he's not reinstatin! g the draft each and every time quickly. it is tremendous about you transforming into a member of the military...solid success!

Mikel Bethay: He should reinstate the draft... if more of the red state, self proclaimed patriots actually volunteered to fight in the war they overwhelming approve of, we wouldn't need the draft, but since that isn't the case..Btw, if there is another heated major conflict in the world, we will need to reinstate the draft, but you can thank Bush for over extending our military unnecessarily.

Lewis Ranft: You can have as many "accurate" polls as you want, but only the elections count.

Mitzie Clough: According to the polls we haven't had a Republican President in 20 years. Dems usually lead in polls, but young people never show up to vote so the Republicans win. Sad but true.

Margy Sandquist: Probably not. Congress did such an excellent job running Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, there's really no excuse for not giving government! total control over everything else as well.

Cody Petrulis: The P! resident cannot reinstate the draft on his own; that's up to Congress.

Rosalba Lingner: Both the question and the first answer exhibits the extreme ignorance of the liberals and their supporters. Please explain HOW the Republicans can prevent anything since they have not enough votes to prevent, allow or cause anything. Ignorance should not be advertised.

Leif Serabia: I think the first guy exposed his own stupidity. It's the Democrats that did nothing which is why we are in such a mess from 2006 on they have made the economy worse so I guess they did one thing. They refuse to fix social security. I love liberal hypocrisy it amuses me....Show more
