Many actors, directors and producers (the names people recognize) tend to the liberal side, although there are exceptions. Elva Batie: you could look deeply into the reasons for the media's perceived "liberal" bias, about which conservative, secretive adherents to the status quo are always badgering us. in the history of the printed word you will find that it has always been perceived as dangerous and revolutionary: by the establishment. you could even look back in time on the treatment of the entertainments of the day, and how they were seen as manipulative. for examples you could go to coffee houses (also 'revolutionary') a! nd dr. johnson. for conservative bias look at the prince of wales (son of george iv) and his secret life, known by the establishment but 'covered up' - i.e. ignored - by the english press, which also has a history of conservative bias until the duke and duchess of windsor fracas. as a matter of fact it was the liberal-leaning american media which began publishing major articles about how "one of ours" could be the next queen. that set off the firestorm that ended in the abdication.the couple were seen as entertainment, right to the end. and every single one of the british papers was biased to the right, i.e. the preservation of an orderly society headed by a king and his 'acceptable' queen. that they misread their king and how far he would go for his woman is one of the great stories of media error of the 20th century....Show more
