Talisha Digrande: In most states ECE is code for child care. See your advisor for the job outlook. Note that some states do accept ece for k-2 teaching.The degrees are certainly different. You can specialize within the education major.
Ha Wolski: That's incorrect- you can work at a childcare center with a certification or an associates but those with BS or BA in ECE especially ECE SE have a great future outlook working for government programs, preschools, preschools for the disabled, etc. The starting pay for those range around 30 K a year and up for a regular BS/BA. With a ECE SE degree it starts around 40K per year.
