how do you turn off tivo ?

Chris Wilczewski: Why do you want to turn it off? If it is completely off it won't be able to record.For a while Tivo actually did have a standby on the menu, but that was only for the psychological reason of people thinking they had to turn it off, all it did was stop sending a signal to the TV, the Tivo was otherwise running exactly the same. I'm not sure if that menu option is still there or not.Most devices (like vcr's) don't actually "shut off", they just dim or simplify their lcd display to give the appearance of "off"....Show more
