Randa Hessell: I can only answer these questions as they apply in the US. Salary ranges are researched and published and I think you will find $35,000 to $100,000 is the range - I've given you a link to that. Pay rates may be structured different in different companies. Many positions in larger companies will be salaried positions - that is you will work about 40 hours per week and be paid for 40 hours even if there is not work do to every moment of the day. When you start out you could be in a smaller company, a contract situation and have work odd hours or work piecemeal hours but as you gain experience this would get better.Certs are usually A+, Network+, Microsoft and Cisco. To get a job you will need to have experience, a 4 year degree and a few certs. Certs alone are not enough so pursure your degree and complete it. Try to get a job in the computer lab at school if assistant jobs are offered. Volunteer to do computer work at non-profits group like churches, schools! , senior centers and other places so this can be on your resume. As soon as you can try to get a job in a computer repair store or department while still in school. Best wishes......Show more
