I have a car w/ loan/title in my name, but my fiance will be the primary driver; How does the insurance work?

Logan Bero: 1

Lyman Gauld: thats no problem. Since you are the owner add the newest car to your esisting policy with her as the primary driver and you as the secondary one. This will give you both an insurance card. Since you both live at the same address this will not be a problem.

Barton Morfee: The car has to be insured by the titled owner. Just add the car to your existing policy and add the fiance to the policy as the principal driver. You will need to maintain the registration card and proof of insurance together inside the car in case your fiance is ever asked for the registration card. It would also be proper for have a signed statement giving permission to drive the car. All these documents should be kept together in the glove compartment.
